We’ve all been there. What started out as a good or creative idea in our minds, ended up becoming a hot a** mess on our heads. These stars have experienced the exact same thing, which makes us feel better because at least our terrible hairstyles weren’t splattered all over tabloids.
Beyonce
Beyonce’s every move has been dissected to death so when she changes her hair up, we immediately take notice. And her most recent look has got a lot of us scratching our heads. The “Partition” singer showed up at Paris’s Gare du Nord train station earlier this week wearing what appears to be a long blonde wig with bluntly chopped bangs. Beyonce rocked a similar back when she shot a music video with Lady Gaga. That didn’t stop a lot of people from dragging her on social media after she debuted her new look.
Jennifer Lawrence
Jennifer Lawrence has been praised for her acting skills but last year when she popped up with a new hairstyle, it was all anyone could talk about. “The Hunger Games” actress first traded in her long blonde locks for a shorter, brighter blonde bob cut. But then she took things a lot shorter with her next hairstyle and rocked a new blonde pixie cut.
Kate Gosselin
Back during the height of her popularity, Kate Gosselin’s hairstyle was well known but it wasn’t exactly flattering. The “Kate Plus 8” star had an asymmetrical bob that was longer on one side than the other. She also had the back of her hair spiked straight up. And the unusual hairdo included blonde streaks. The “Kate Gosselin” costume was a big hit with a lot of women one Halloween year. That tells you what a fail it was.
Charlize Theron
Charlize Theron has drastically changed her appearance for movie roles before but when she popped up with her signature locks chopped off and sported a buzz cut, many were stunned. She cut her hair for “Mad Max: The Fury” but admitted it was taking a long time growing back. She sported a short ‘do at the 2013 Oscars and said that shaving her head had been a liberating feeling. “It’s the most freeing thing,” she said. “I highly recommend it. I think every woman should do it.”
Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga jumped on the head-shaving bandwagon last year but of course she put her own spin to it. She shaved an odd triangle into the back of her head. Gaga later had a tattoo inked in the spot. But luckily the “Poker Face” singer left the front of her hair intact and was still glamour ready whenever she stepped out and faced the paparazzi.
Miley Cyrus
When Miley Cyrus was ready to stop acting and devote her time and energy to her singing career, she just couldn’t wait to ditch her Hannah Montana image. One of the first things she got rid of were her long signature strawberry blonde locks. Cyrus chopped them off and her newly short hair gave her an edgy look. However, when she showed up on the red carpet channeling Cameron Diaz in “There’s Something About Mary,” she looked less edgy and more ridiculous. She also caught some flack when she put her short hair up in Chinese bumps.

Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande’s rise to the top seemed to have come out of nowhere but her big break actually came back in 2009 when she scored her first acting role on Nickelodeon. She’s rocked her long, brown tresses in the same hairstyle for much of her career but the “Break Free” singer debuted a new hairstyle on her Instagram page last month. With a day off in Japan, Grande was inspired by her surroundings and decided to channel her best Princess Leia look.

50 Cent
50 Cent is normally the one poking fun of people but when the rapper turned actor showed up at the 2011 Aruba Film Festival to promote his “All Things Fall Apart” movie all anyone could talk about was his new hairstyle. Channeling his inner R&B singer, the “In Da Club” rapper used a curl activator in his hair. However, after he was clowned incessantly, 50 Cent said the new look was for a movie role. However, we have yet to see the film that he changed his hair for.

Rihanna
Rihanna just doesn’t care what other people think. That’s freed up the “We Found Love” singer to experiment with her looks and she has tried out more hairstyles than we could remember. Rihanna debuted a new look at last year’s American Music Awards that had many people talking. Her hairstyle was reminiscent of many women of color leaving the beauty salon on a Friday night or Saturday morning with their hair wrapped up after a wash and set. However all of the negative remarks about Rihanna’s short-lived ‘do rolled right off of her back.
Chante Moore
On the debut season of “R&B Divas: LA,” veteran singer Chante Moore rocked the partly shaved head hairstyle a la Cassie and it really fit her face. But for some reason she switched it up the following season and it just wasn’t the same. It could have been the extra track that was laid on the side. But something hasn’t been right with the “Chante’s Got A Man” singer’s hair since.
Kim Kardashian
Believe it or not, even though Kim Kardashian has had long dark hair ever since she became famous, her boo Kanye West actually prefers her with blonde hair. The famous reality star lightened her hair up and walked around with blonde hair to please her man last year. But she returned to her dark roots soon after. Over the past summer, Kardashian teased her followers by posting a photo of herself with blonde hair but thankfully it was just a wig.

Wiz Khalifa
Wiz Khalifa may be going through some things right now and he’s using his hair as a way to express himself. Just a few weeks after his wife Amber Rose filed for a divorce, the “We Dem Boyz” rapper decided to change up his look a little bit. He debuted his newly purple dyed locks on Instagram. Wiz is clearly going through some things which probably explains why so many people are giving him a pass.

Katie Holmes
After Katie Holmes married Tom Cruise she eventually started to look like a shell of who she used to be. Gone were her long, dark brown curly locks. She instead cut her hair and wore it in a more conservative bob that aged the “Dawson’s Creek” star. Holmes also requested to be called “Kate” instead. But she went back to her old, jovial self following the quicky divorce and her long hair has since returned.
