Characters like this glorify the bad boy! They make us almost feel bad for them—like they’re “good guys” but just have an Achilles heel of alcohol, drugs, lying, or sex. Their unrealistic charisma makes us excuse their reckless ways. But in real life, no matter how funny or smart a bad boy guy is, that doesn’t undo the harm he does to those around him.
