For nearly two years, Love and Hip-Hop Atlanta has brought us the rachet drama we can’t help but love and loathe. To celebrate the show’s third season (which kicked off last week) we’re taking a look back at 15 of the biggest scandals to come out of the Atlanta franchise… so far.
Mimi and Nikko’s Sex Tape
Last month Mimi and Nikko devised a whole new use for shower rods in a sex tape salaciously titled Mimi and Nikko: Scandal in Atlanta.

Benzino Getting Shot
Every season of LHHATL has had its share of violence, but who would’ve predicted Benzino getting shot… on his way to his mother’s funeral… by his nephew… AND it being caught on camera? Too. Much.

K. Michelle’s (Alleged) Abusive Relationship
Season one K. Michelle made the explosive claim that her ex, producer Memphitz, had abused her over the course of their relationship, but quickly felt the hate when Tamar Braxton sent out this subliminal tweet to Toya Wright (Memphitz’s wife): “let this girl have her fairytale”
It didn’t take long for the situation to explode into a war of words on TV, radio and Twitter between the three ladies before finally sizzling out nearly a year later.

Benzino’s Naked Selfie
This past February Karlie Redd leaked a naked picture of Benzino on her Twitter page, comparing him to her now ex-boo Yung Joc. So for anyone who actually wanted to see Benzino’s nether regions, you can thank Karlie.

Joseline Being Born A Man
Barely two weeks into season one, Joseline’s strong features and over-the-top antics had haters suggesting she had actually been born a man. Though the rumors have died down a bit since then, Joseline still hasn’t been able to shake nicknames like Jose and Joseph.

K. Michelle’s ASSets
During a radio interview with the Breakfast Club, K. Michelle admitted to having a butt lift but denied having any injections or implants. As for why her famous backside seemed to get bigger overnight? According to her, having fat taken out of her mid-section and losing weight has made her butt look even larger. Mmkay.

Joseline’s Abortion
Season one Joseline ruffled all types of feathers when she admitted to visiting a clinic to abort what she claimed was Stevie J’s baby. To this day the scene has gone down as one of LHHATL’s most controversial.

DJ Traci Steele’s Naked Pic
After the conclusion of season two a nude pic of Traci circulated online. Fortunately for her she received very little negative feedback for it, though she did admit to Sister 2 Sister magazine: “I’m only human, I made a mistake.” Understandable… we guess.

Mimi’s Being Ja Rule’s Groupie
A season one sit down between Mimi and Joseline resulted in yelling, screaming and the spilt tea that Mimi had a past sexual relationship with Ja Rule. When asked if there was any truth to Joseline’s claim in a later interview, Mimi answered, “Yes, I know Ja Rule very well. Yes.”

Karlie Redd’s Age
Since the start of the show Karlie Redd has maintained that she’s in her 20’s and never tells her real age. But those of us who remember her from the 2009 VH1 reality TV series Scream Queens – when she declared her age to be 29 – can pretty much figure that Miss Karlie is fibbing. Plus Benzino revealed to Sister 2 Sister magazine that Karlie has a grown daughter.

Kirk’s (Alleged) Affair With His Stepdaughter
After season one ended rumors began swirling that Kirk had fathered a baby with his step-daughter from a previous marriage. Needless to say, it didn’t take long for Kirk and Rasheeda to call BS on the rumors and shut them down.

In 2003 and 2007 Joseline was arrested for lewd and lascivious behavior in Miami under her stripper name, Shenellica Bettencourt.

Stevie J’s (Alleged) Custody Of Eva
Early 2013 Stevie claimed to have custody of his and Mimi’s daughter Eva – a claim Mimi not only denied, but killed on the spot. In an interview Mimi declared:
“If he has custody, I would like for him to put the paperwork up. Matter of fact, I will give him and anyone else $5,000 to show custody papers. I have not been to court one time about my daughter. It’s bullsh**, a complete lie. There’s no custody issue – that’s it.”
Stevie J and Eve’s Relationship
Over LHHATL’s three season run we’ve learned a lot about the cast’s past relationships. But no past fling has been more interesting (or controversial) than Stevie’s former relationship with rapper Eve. Especially after Mimi revealed that Eve had once caught her and Stevie in bed together…
