Do we have permission to backtrack to the ’80s and ’90s when skinny jeans became the arch-rivals of baggy jeans? For one reason or another, the fashion timeline tends to revolve in a 360 degree path. One moment you’re rocking the latest “hopster” jeans, and the following decade it’s all about the newest “hipster” jeans that came out in a store near you. Arguably, baggy jeans are no longer fashion’s trademark emblem. The education system and state county districts are implementing codes that ban the baggy look, which makes it apparent that more people are adapting the tight-fitting skinny jean hugsters! Even mainstream male celebrities have tapped into the action, showing off their form-fitting drapper just as much as the ladies! We don’t know whether to inhale or exhale for a minute with this new maneuver, but it is clear that baggy are phasing out.
Check out these 15 celebrities who cling to their skinny jeans…
Kanye West
Rapper Kanye West’s signature pieces land him at the top of our list. He never ceases to amaze us with his no-nonsense attitude towards the designer labels he sports on and off the red carpet including this get-up he’s wearing at a fashion show. His transition from preppy to extremely dressy-casual makes us wonder how long he will embrace this new look.
Usher
Usher has a style all his own. But lately, he’s trying something different in the fashion cycle including these DSquared2’s Great Dark Denim jeans he wore to a recent performance in New York City with matching high-tops. The re-invention of the singer never stops as you can tell…he is his own man!
Black Eyed Peas
If you want to have an idea of what the future looks like, take a page out of the Black Eyed Peas’ book. They’re branded as one of rap and pop’s most innovative groups. So it makes sense why they appear on our list. Skinny jeans and all, is there anything they haven’t worn?
Justin Timberlake
The man who invented the “Hotback” phrase got us going because of his melo-dramatic persona on the pop scene. Justin Timberlake’s star power yields an unshakable element to fashion and music including the form-fitting drappers he wears in public. This cutie knows what to do with a pair of jeans!
Pharrell
The first-half of the Neptunes, Pharrell has one unique clothing rack, including this skater-boy outfit he’s worn since the start of his music career. You never know when he may abandon his skinny jeans and Billionaire Boys apparel though.
John Legend
The R&B singer pens our list as one of music’s hottest stars. With hits such as “Green Light,” “Ordinary People” and “Save Room,” John Legend is a couture hit with trademark trousers adorned by our favorite players. It’s so attractive to see a man in white!
Russell Brand
Russell Brand probably won’t deviate from his date with skinny jeans anytime soon. Whether he is on the red carpet or hosting a gig for MTV, this British comedian/actor has leisure time for more trendier sets.
Jaden Smith
Jaden Smith handles the media blitz very well at the tender age of 12. It’s evident that the star treatment hasn’t gone to his head yet (hats off to dad, Will Smith)! But the young actor showcases a fashion collection so unique, he had to be featured on our list. Apparently, his skinny jean collection is receiving praise among the youth, teenagers, and older adults who want to jump on the bandwagon too!
Chris Brown
Not only has R&B superstar Chris Brown resurged his presence in music, he has managed to infuse hip hop with skater-boy denim. His fans also are inspired by his new outlook on life, so we wouldn’t be surprised if he opened up a franchise very soon.
Justin Bieber
The new pop sensation has devoured fashion in many ways. From the short leather jackets to the high-top sneakers, he breathes new life to the fashion stage…especially with his storage space of skinny jeans.
Brad Pitt
A-list actors such as Brad Pitt adore the renewed apparel too! Whether he wears them in his sleep or on the red carpet, this big-bucks celebrity surely has a stack of pairs lying around.
Ne-Yo
Singer and songwriter, Ne-Yo is classified as every woman’s man. He has sold millions, writes music and projects a clean-cut image for every album release date. But most importantly, he can’t escape his clandestine affair with skinny jeans. He could be the hardest one to break in the fashion department.
Zac Efron
Actor Zac Efron belongs to a list of young superstars who have suspended their “baggy” permits for the time being. You can always find him sporting a masculine look that screams sex appeal!
Jay-Z
We’ve got to hand it to Jigga-man. He’s cleaned up nicely over the years, and tops the best MC list. These days, Jay-Z looks for fresh new talent to headline Def Jam. Music mogul, entrepreneur, rapper, philanthropist…is there anything this man hasn’t done? Other than his eye for fashion, we noticed that he’s left those old baggy jeans behind for the skinny jean craze. We wonder if Beyonce had any input.
Omarion/Marques Houston
R&B superstars, Omarion and Marques Houston (shown above) show that skinny jeans can be enticing for the average female or fan.
Robin Thicke
R&B soulster, Robin Thicke has no shortage of skinny trousers lying around. In fact, he makes sure to don a new masculine, couture pair for every stage performance to show the ladies what he’s really about!
Wyclef Jean
The Haitian-born singer loves his country, countrymen, and those infamous jeans! Yes, Wyclef Jean is unafraid to bare his legs in skinny jeans fit for a musician.
