This fall, white is the new black! Well maybe that’s a stretch, but this season instead of packing away your white pieces, incorporate them into your fall wardrobe. Once a color with the shortest fashion lifespan, white can now be worn year-round. Yes mesdames, even after Labor Day. Here are five tips on rocking white in the upcoming seasons.

Be careful with rocking white head to toe: If you decide to be fashionably bold, break up the ‘bridal’ look by heavily accessorizing. If you’re still debating if wearing white after Labor Day is for you, wearing white from head to toe is probably not the best way to decide.

Little White Dress: The woman who wears a ‘Little White Dress’ in a room of ‘Little Black Dresses” will surely get noticed; but not necessarily in a bad way. If choosing to wear a LWD, opt for thicker fabrics and steer clear of ‘summery’ cotton material.

White Outerwear: What’s not to love about white blazers, cardigans, and jackets? Outerwear is made for fall and winter. These items were specifically made to rock after Labor Day.

White Tops: White shirts and sweaters are probably the safest way to wear white after Labor Day. Again, make sure you pack away the summery material (unless, of course you’re layering it with a cardigan or blazer).

Finally, if you’re going to wear it…work it! Make sure you wear your white with confidence. When we’re not comfortable wearing something, it definitely shows. Understand that white is a classic color that can be worn all year. Trust, me the fashion police will not come after you.
