Ever since 1892, when the city was deemed “Chamois Town,” Kitzbuhel has become the place where winter sports are prized, timeless, and well respected. In Kitzbuhel, snow sports are a part of daily life and the resort is home to the Hahnenkamm Race, which has become one of the most well known and important alpine ski events in the world. Compared to any other ski resort in Austria or in the world, Kitzbuhel most definitely has its roots deeply embedded in alpine and snow sports. The resort offers over 106 miles of ski routes, some of which raise as high as 2,000 meters above sea level. Aside from skiing there are various other mountaineering activities though if you’re looking to ski, this place is your nirvana.
