Fall fashion is versatile. You can mix and match pieces from each season to achieve the looks you want. Not only does this allow you to create different looks, but your pockets don’t have to suffer in the process. So as summer ends and fall approaches, you don’t have to revamp your entire wardrobe. Instead of packing away all of your summer items, keep these five pieces to add to your fall fashion line-up.
1. Tanks & Camis
These basic sleeveless items can be transitioned into the fall. While you may rock them alone in the summer, wearing them under cardigans or blazers will allow you to transition these staple items into your fall attire.
2. Shorts
Shorts are synonymous with summer. But they don’t have to be limited only to this season. Covering up your arms with longer sleeves or layers can allow you to go bare-legged in the fall. But in the event of less than warm weather, over-the –knee boots allow you to achieve a Hot look without appearing as if you’re headed to the beach.
3. Dresses & Minis
Like shorts, dresses and skirts allow you to go bare-legged, and they still work in the fall. If you’re not comfortable going completely bare-legged, add tights for a more polished fall look. For spicier looks, choosing tights with a little flair can change a boring skirt or dress into a trendy piece. Or if you prefer a more classic look, basic color tights work just as well.
4. Leggings
Whether you hate them or love them, leggings have become seasonal stables because of their effortless comfort and style. Leggings can be worn with long belted shirts, cardigan, and blazers. Longer leggings (those which finish just-above the ankle rather than mid-calf) also give the illusion of slimmer, longer legs.
5. Peep-Toe Shoes
Gone are the days when exposing your toes are limited to summer fashion only. Just as you add tights to dresses and minis, if you need a little ‘toe cover up’ you can still rock your favorite summer shoes by simply adding tights. Peep-toe shoes are so versatile because they expose just enough in the summer but not too much in cooler fall weather.
