According to That Grape JuiceCaesar’s latest album is only projected to sell under 3,000 copies.
That Grape Juice reports that Case Study is expected to sell between 1-2000 pure copies and between 24-27,000 units with streams. In its opening week, Case Study debuted at number 11.
While it’s hard to say why people don’t buy albums, many are convinced that it was Caesar’s decision to defend a White woman wearing a “N*ggas Lie A Lot” shirt that caused many of Caesar’s fans to check out.
In an Instagram rant, Caesar said that Black people are too hard on White people. He told fans that he didn’t care of his comments caused people to stop buying his music. If these numbers are accurate, that’s exactly what happened.
In his defense, Caesar later apologized for his comments. He said he realized he was talking down to his fans, that he sounded pretentious. And in looking at the video later, he recognized how harsh it sounded.
But perhaps it wasn’t enough.
See what people had to say about Caesar, his album sales and his decision to defend Yes Julz on the following pages.
Daniel Caesar got all the black features in the world on the album thinking we'd forget but nobody did… pic.twitter.com/YTiF19bhGk

Daniel Caesar did all that shucking and jiving to only sell a projected 3,000 copies of his latest album, we love to see the clown come back to bite. pic.twitter.com/2YAnnDsn8l
Daniel Caesar caused this on himself. He was the one who decided to defend a racist white woman instead of siding with his own fucking community. https://t.co/B9CMrQ9HLj
daniel caesar telling black people to stop being so sensitive about yesjulz’s behavior is exactly the reason why the yesjulzs of the world continue to thrive
