Arts Therapist
As an alternative to tradition psychiatric medicine, art was introduced as a way to help patients back in the 1940’s. Since then, the profession has developed into a widely practice form of therapy. Art therapists use the creative process of artmaking to enhance and asses the mental, emotional and physical prognosis of patients. There are masters programs for art therapy and an undergraduate degree in psychology or health care is most complimentary.
