(Washington Informer) — The race for the District representative in the U.S. Congress is dominated by a long-term incumbent who has established a reputation for being a fighter on Capitol Hill and who is expected to cruise to re-election this fall.

D.C. Del. Eleanor Holmes Norton is seeking her 10th term in the U.S. House of Representatives. Norton, 73, said that she wants to continue to work for the people of the District.

“I am working to earn another term in Congress,” Norton said at a forum sponsored by the Congress Heights Community Association at the Saint Elizabeth’s Hospital Auditorium in Southeast on Fri., Aug. 6.
