Well hellooooooooo diva!

Solange Knowles is in the pages of the newest issue of Entertainment Weekly in all afro and long-haired fur glory, speaking on her love of the simple life, her hopes to head back down South soon, and her son Julez’s hopes to rap (blame it on his uncle).

In a short excerpt from the full interview, Knowles discussed all the work she put into her new critically-acclaimed EP, True, including all the money she spent out of her own pocket to pay for videos (including “Losing You”) and to create the EP as a whole. This was all done so that Knowles could finally have full creative control over her work, saying, “Every decision that’s been made behind this record, from the exact color of the album’s artwork to what record stores we put the record in, has been made by me.” And the results for the new, take-charge way of leading her life and career have been great. Many of Knowles’ upcoming shows to promote the EP have been sold out, and she has become part of the sartorial elite, being named one of Vogue’s Best Dressed last year and a fashion forward chick constantly killing it on the red carpet, creating her own lane outside of what people expected from her (which was to follow Bey’s lead). Great idea.

But an idea Knowles isn’t too sure about is whether or not she wants Julez to get into the entertainment industry. However, lil man has already started writing down his flows, and Solange showed off some of what he had written so far. Soooo cute:

“You don’t know how to rap/You’re so fat, like a rat in a mousetrap/You got a pen?/No? I didn’t think so/I’ll get you one if you know how to flow, yo/You got a pocket? I didn’t think so/Because you’re like an armadillo in the road, bro/Have you seen the movie hunger games?” And then it stops there.

But those rapper plans may need to go on hold for now, as his famous mom hopes to leave Brooklyn and move back South in the next few years. Blame it on her H-town roots…and the warm weather.

“I’m such a Southern girl. I plan on moving back in the next year or two, when it makes sense for Julez schoolwise. I think either Austin or New Orleans. Somewhere warm, for sure.”

Ever wondered what the uber-fabulous and fashionable Solange’s house looks like? No? Well, then you can’t truly call yourself a nosy person. But as a fellow Brooklynite, I know I was excited to see what the eclectic “It Girl” has going on in her digs. For a shoot and spread in this month’s ELLE, writer Julie Vadnal got the scoop on Solo’s design choices (which included some actual chill basics, including crisp white bedding) for her top-floor brownstone that she shares with her son and boyfriend, Alan Ferguson (Ol’ boy who called her the love of his life on the BET Awards this year). “I had a moment when I looked at my closet and I was like, ‘Whoa, I really don’t have any basics.’ And with my house, I wanted to find a balance of having great colors and patterns but also a really livable, warm, serene space.” Warm is right! Vadnal even found herself in the middle of a dance party–with Solange as the DJ of course and a bevvy of her funky-fresh-dressed-to-impress friends. Hey, hey, hey! It’s your favorite post of the week (aside from Evening Eye Candy I’m sure), Cute Kid Alert! Let’s see who was showcasing their beautiful children as of recent.

For starters, we thought it was too cute that proud papa Diddy decided to shout out all his kids who graduated recently. Most folks have been paying attention to the fact that Justin got into UCLA with a huge scholarship and graduated from high school, but who knew Christian graduated from junior high school, and that his daughter Chance just finished kindergarten? The father sent love to his kids via his Twitter account, letting the whole world know about his brood of scholars:

In his tweet for Christian, Diddy said, “Congrats to my twin Christian who graduated from 8th grade going to High School! God’s the greatest!”

For Chance he posted this picture and said, “Congrats to my daughter Chance who graduated from kindergarten! You’re on your way to 1st grade baby”

And for his first-born, Diddy said the following: “Congratulations @JDior_ for graduating from High School!! UCLA here we come!!!”

Vanessa Williams also Tweeted out a picture of some of her kids. The two ladies above are Sasha (her 12-year-old daughter with Rick Fox), and Jillian (her 23-year-old daughter with ex-husband, Ramon Hervey II). For the caption, the proud mama wrote, “My big girls summer in the city…” Big indeed! I would have never looked at Sasha and thought she was 12…

Solange was also seen out and about with her little man, Julez, as they hit up Stella McCartney’s Spring fashion presentation in NYC yesterday. She wore Stella McCartney and looked fabulous, per the usual, and her son was looking very dapper and colorful himself. Awwww, luv these two!

And lastly, Charlize Theron and her son Jackson were seen waltzing around in Cali, hats on deck, and colorful attire in full effect. He looks like a living doll! Glad to see she’s so enamored with her little man…and I can’t wait to see what her shaved head is looking like!
