When will people learn that Deb Antney is something like a gangster when it comes to managing rappers. If you do business behind her back and she doesn’t get her cut, you will pay.

According to TMZ, Antney is suing rapper French Montana for securing deals without her knowledge or consent. Subsequently, she was also cut out of her 20 percent management cut.

Deb is suing French for at least $50,000 in damages. The icing on the cake? He was served papers at an Atlanta concert earlier this week.

The suit, likely filed in Atlanta, states that French signed into an exclusive management deal with Deb’s company, Mizay Entertainment, in November 2010.  She was to be responsible for all his deals and apparently French was pleased because he was quoted as saying she has the management thing “down pat.”

Unfortunately it didn’t work out at all. In fact, French has been managed by Gaby Acevedo since at least 2012 and often gets the credit for most deals involving French.

Antney, who is also rapper Waka Flocka’s mother, has been revered for years as a great manager, especially for hot, upcoming talent. Not only did she have a deal with French, but she also managed acts such as Gucci Mane and Nicki Minaj at the early points in their careers (some would argue that Gucci is still in the early point of his career but he’s had a fair amount of success in the south). She even tried to help jumpstart Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta co-star Rasheeda’s career but she chose to stick with her husband.

No word on how French or his team plans to respond.

French must not have heard about Deb: she will work hard for you but don’t cross her!

SMH: French Montana’ Wife Blows Up On Twitter About How Rapper Abandoned His Family

I don’t know who I’m shaking my head at more, French Montana for letting money and 3 minutes of fame go to his head, or his wife for telling all their business on Twitter, but just know that my head is rapidly moving from left to right.

Just for a little background info, French Montana is a Moroccan-born rapper (real name Karim Kharbouch) on Rick Ross’s MMG label whose song “Pop That” you might be familiar with. Deen Kharbouch is the woman he married in 2007 at the age of 22 and with whom he has a son, and it seems will soon be divorcing from the Twitter rant she went on yesterday which she clearly wanted to be leaked.

According to the YBF, what set Deen off was an interview French did with The Boombox over the weekend. In the rapper’s mind, he and his wife have been separated for some time, in her head he peaced out on his family because of his new-found fame. Speaking on his marriage, he told the site:

“Man, I couldn’t do it; that’s why we got separated. At first it was smooth, but then as much as people think that money changes you, it’s changing them around you. A person ain’t gonna treat you the same now that they think that you think you somebody.”

Then the real reason for the split comes out in the next sentence when he says:

“You around so many beautiful women, that’s a conflict too,” he says. “It’s just about finding somebody that understand the game, what you’re into. But then on the flip side of the coin, you gotta understand their game, what they into … There’s a flip side to everything

“You can’t expect to make all this money and not go through problems. You can’t expect God to give you everything you want without taking something away.”

Um did God take it away or did he throw it away? I don’t know this man from Adam, but I’m not a fan of using God as a reason for why something is gone when it was most likely your own actions. Just sayin.’

Neither French nor his wife has blatantly mentioned the d-word in regard to their future, but the writing would appear to be all over the wall. Hope the fame and beautiful women were worth it.

Now We Know Why Mase Is Returning to Rap: He Owes Uncle Sam

Last week I came across an article that said Mase may make an appearance on Rick Ross and French Montana’s upcoming albums and all I thought was, why does this man stay with one foot in the pulpit and the other in the hood? But now I know the answer: the IRS has their foot all up in his behind.

As of now, Mason Betha owes the IRS $124,774.85 in back taxes, going all the way back from 2000, 2001, and 2004, which was right around the time he put out that “Welcome Back” album after a five-year hiatus to pursue a “calling from God.” The album didn’t do so hot so that could be why he neglected to pay Uncle Sam. Considering it’s been about eight years since we’ve heard him in any mainstream format, paying off the IRS is the only explanation I can come up with for him appearing on Rozay and newcomer French Montana’s records, although he’s also rumored to have a $35,000 jewelry bill he neglected to pay around that same time too.

I’m going to assume Mase is completely done with his ministry now that he’s pending a third comeback but I wonder if he prayed on this. I know back in ’99 he and Diddy said 10 years from now they’d still be on top, but 13 years later, the game will probably not be feeling that Harlem World sound anymore.

When is someone going to teach these celebs you can’t avoid the IRS?
