Gotta Get A Ruff Neck: Celebrity Women Who Love Bad Boys
Even though we know they are just no good for us, sometimes we just can’t help falling for a man with a bad boy image. These celebrity women can certainly relate.
Since Fantasia split with married man/baby daddy Antwaun Cook, her love life has been a mystery but the “Lose Yourself” singer surprised everyone when she posted a photo on Instagram of her new paramour Kendall Taylor. A day later when his criminal background made headlines, Fantasia defended Taylor’s past saying that’s what drew her to him in the first place.
Despite her sweet and innocent appearance, actress Lauren London has always had a thing for bad boys. After hooking up with Lil Wayne a few years ago, she was one of the three women who were infamously knocked up by the New Orleans rapper in just a year. London has been rumored to be currently dating another tatted up rapper: Nipsey Hussle. “I love guys who are street,” London once said. “I won’t even give soft guys a chance.”
Wendy Williams has always loved a man with a little edge to him. Married to husband Kevin Hunter for years, the daytime television talk show host has said she was a little nervous introducing him to her parents for the first time because she didn’t want him to be judged based on his thuggish appearance. Williams has also been vocal about her crush on child star turned bar room brawler Shia LaBeouf.
Even though she’s an R&B singer, Keyshia Cole certainly has an edge to her and that’s how she likes her men. Before she married NBA baller Daniel “Boobie” Gibson, the “I Changed My Mind” singer was involved with rapper Jeezy. Rumors started to fly that Cole and the Atlanta rapper were rekindling their relationship last year when she showed up to his birthday without her husband and without her wedding ring.
Trina remains one of the most eligible female rappers in the industry but it’s certainly not for lack of trying. Trina has been romantically linked to several famous men and she does have a type. Some of the men Trina’s been with include rapper Rick Ross and NBA player Kenyon Martin, who famously left his wife for the “Pull Over” rapper and had her lips tattooed on his neck before he went back to his wife. Trina was also with Lil Wayne and was even pregnant by him but suffered a miscarriage.
K. Michelle saw her popularity shoot up and had a resurgence in her singing career after first appearing on “Love and Hip Hop Atlanta” and viewers of the show have heard how the R&B songstress has been ready for love. The “Can’t Raise A Man” singer was with New York Knicks bad boy JR Smith for the briefest of time. She was also rumored to dating young rapper Meek Mill, who is currently incarcerated on parole violation. A few months ago, her latest relationship with minor league baller Bobby Maze came to light after his jilted baby mama exposed them.
From the time she emerged in the music scene, Whitney Houston was molded to be the biggest crossover pop act in music. But behind closed doors, the Newark native had a little street in her and when she was ready to settle down, no doubt her managers and executives over at the label were less than enthused that she was marrying Bobby Brown. The former New Edition member was known for his troubles with the law and was crowned the bad boy of R&B for a reason. Many felt it was Brown who had introduced the “I Will Always Love You” singer to drugs and blamed him for her downfall.
When she had an active account on Instagram, Rihanna went by “BadGalRiRi” and with a name like that, you know she must have a thing for bad boys. The Bajan singer was in a relationship with the baddest of them all: Chris Brown. Rihanna has also been linked to NBA ballers JR Smith and Rashard Lewis, baseball player Matt Kemp and Shia LaBeouf. But Rihanna is an equal opportunity dater because not all of the men she’s been with have a thuggish appearance. She’s also been rumored to have been with Ashton Kutcher, Josh Hartnett, Justin Timberlake and rapper Drake.
For years Beyonce worked hard to rule the top of the charts first as part of a group then as a solo act but one thing she did not do was date around, at least not publicly. When it was time for the “Drunk In Love” singer to settle down who knew that rapper Jay Z would be the one to take her off of the market? In addition to his past as a drug dealer, the Brooklyn rapper turned business mogul had a reputation for being a ladies man who had no intentions of settling down. Mr. and Mrs. Carter celebrated their six-year wedding anniversary this past April and are the proud parents of little Blue Ivy.
Mary J. Blige
It took years for Mary J. Blige to finally find happiness within herself but back when she was in her self-destructive phase, she was also in a relationship with Jodeci singer K-Ci. The four member group’s bad boy image and wardrobe decked out in all black leather outfits, Timberland boots and hats worn to the back had the ladies going wild. Although Blige and K-Ci made great music together with the song “I Don’t Want To Do Anything Else,” thankfully their tumultuous relationship came to an end.
Nobody sang, “Ooh baby” quite like Ashanti and for nine years Nelly was her baby for most of that time. The couple was in an on-again, off-again relationship that they tried to keep out of the media. Although few rappers look as good as the St. Louis rapper does in a tank top, Nelly hardly seemed like the settling down type. Soon after they called it quits once and for all, Nelly soon moved on to a new female that looked like a younger version of Ashanti.
R&B singer Ciara made a lot of women jealous when she started dating 50 Cent. The Queens rapper turned business mogul was infamously shot nine times back in his drug dealing days. Although they were hardly seen together publicly, Ciara and Fiddy were together for several years and he used to shower her with lavish gifts including a bright blue Lamborghini. Ciara went on to date singer/songwriter Future and gave birth to his fourth child earlier this year but the two have since broken up following rumors of his infidelity.
There’s no doubt that Tiny is a ride or die chick for her husband T.I. The rapper was busted for gun possession and had to serve time. The former Xscape member held her man down while he completed his sentence and was even busted getting a little frisky with the self proclaimed King of the South during a jail visit. T.I. even admitted that Tiny held him down back in the day when she was the one making the money in their relationship.
Chanel Iman has a very promising modeling career ahead of her and even though she comes across as innocent and sweet, her rapper boyfriend is the exact opposite. Harlem emcee A$AP Rocky first rose to fame as part of his A$AP Mob crew and although he’s into fashion, he frequently raps about drugs and violence. They’ve been together for more than a year and he reportedly popped the question this past April. Iman has experience being with rappers. She previously dated Cali rapper Tyga.
Back when she was Jenny on the block, Jennifer Lopez was the hottest Latina star to come out of the Bronx. Her newfound fame started to grab a lot of attention but soon her eyes landed on Sean “Diddy” Combs. In no time J. Lo was wearing bandanas on her head and loose fitting jeans while on the Bad Boy CEO’s arm. But when a night of partying with Puff Daddy and his artist Shyne ended in a hail of bullets, La Lopez was done walking on the wild side. She split with Combs soon after that night.
