If He Loved You, He Wouldn’t Ask You To….10 Things You Should Never Do For a Man

For some women, there is nothing they wouldn’t do for their man. Although love should be unconditional, many women feel the need to prove their love to a man, even if it means compromising their beliefs, safety or even their freedom to show them what a “down A$$ chick” they are. However, a man who truly loves you will never ask you to do anything you’re uncomfortable doing in order to prove your love to him.  Your love and devotion should simply be enough, and couples who share true love will never have to prove anything to each other. However, if your man begins a sentence with, “If you loved me, you’d…,” run because most likely, nothing good can come of it. Showing your love shouldn’t be shameful, painful, humiliating or illegal, and while you may think you’re assuaging his insecurities, you’re actually just allowing him to manipulate you. Think there is no limit to showing him how far you’ll go to prove your love? Think again. Here are 10 things no woman should do for a man, simply because he asks her to.

    I think a lot of these could be summed up in one go- Never let go of one of your strongly-held beliefs for another person. If there is something very important in your life that you’ve made a goal of (whether or not to start a family, for example), don’t let anyone take it away from you. The person you should be with isn’t going to pull you down an unwanted road, he’s going to walk with you.

    i have a question about #4… if you get an abortion because it’s your body and your choice blah blah blah, do they still have the right to ask the man for child support if they want to keep the baby and he doesnt?

      Legally, you already know this to be true. This is because child laws are for the best interest of the child (already born), not adult parties. Also, legal is a man being forced to pay support for a child he didn’t sire if he found out substantially later. Again, for the best interest of the child, whether fair to the man or not.

    Dang, ya’ll went there. I was thinking of things like look for a job for him, or get him a cellphone. That list seems like common sense but there are a lot of supposedly grown arse women who are guilty of doing the stupid isht on that list.

      If he needs help finding a job, why not? But the things on this list all need to be said. I know a couple of women who need this list. We ALL know at least one woman who never said no to one or more of these things. I know a girl who got a boob job because her man told her to. 1 break up later she’s left with a pair of double D’s and a bill she still hasn’t paid off.

      DAMN i’ve done both of those things you just mentioned. i love to help.he lost his job (and his phone) recently so i got him a metro pcs phone for his birthday. then whenever i see job openings i help him out by sending him links to stuff. does that make me an idiot?

    I guess i’m selfish now from being hurt so much in life, but i’m not doing anything for a man that he won’t do for me. And asking me for anything, especially money, and especially when they haven’t done anything for me is a big NONO. They can find themselves another sucker.

    Thank you for not being ashamed of writing this. Some women get defensive with the “do anything for your man” stance. But, I find that women tend to be much more compromising and naturally giving. Translation: You are left with very little (emotionally, mentally, resources) if the relationships turns for the worse.

      I agree. Unless a woman is abused or traumatized early on, most of us are nurturers/givers by nature. But sadly, that ability is used and abused by some people. Years ago I was guilty of doing a few things listed above. I was an immature people-pleaser–not anymore. I’ve grown and my self-esteem is through the roof now thanks to God. There’s no harm in admitting to past mistakes but there IS harm in repeating them–over and over again.
