(Atlanta Business Chronicle) — The Republican-controlled General Assembly Wednesday tacked two tax-cutting sweeteners onto legislation increasing taxes and fees, a late-session move criticized by Democrats as seeking political cover for raising taxes.  Voting 107-63 primarily along party lines, the House of Representatives passed a hastily crafted omnibus bill that would gradually eliminate the state’s quarter-mill property tax and all state income taxes on senior citizens.
