Did you accomplish all that you wanted to do?  If you did, CONGRATS! You’re part of the minority of American resolution-makers. However, if you’re like most Americans and how I used to be, you made the same New Year’s resolution this year as you did last year and the year before that. My annual resolutions were always to go to the gym every week and to save more money. I always had great intentions, but by the end of February, I always seemed to amend my resolution: I would cancel my gym membership (to save money) and say I was going to do my exercise tapes at home. By April, I resolved to try it again next year. Sound like you, too? (Be honest!) If so, smile…because this year you can publicly declare your resolutions and be confident that you’ll actually achieve them!

So, how will 2010 be different? Well, this year you have me, Coach Kelly!

Think of me as your personal Life Coach! I won’t say I’ve done everything under the sun but I’ve experienced quite a bit. So, from my own life experiences—lived and learned—I understand taking the first step towards a goal can be difficult, but it can also be so very rewarding. What I’ve also learned are some tried and true strategies for reaching goals and living the life I truly want. And, in a nutshell, that’s what this bi-weekly blog will be about. We’ll talk about all aspects of life—achieving personal and professional success, relationships, health, finances, life balance, etc. Regardless of the topic, the take away will always be for you to walk away with a word of encouragement, a thought-provoking sentiment to ponder or some suggestions about how you can get THERE. (FYI: When I say “THERE,” I’m referring to your ideal place in life; it’s kind of my catch phrase!)

Now, let’s be clear: My goal is to inspire you to do what you aspire to do but have not had the support and encouragement to do in the past. However, I cannot do it alone. You have to be willing to be coached and to work towards your goals if we’re to be a successful team. Success sounds good, right? Of course it does.

Over the series of my next few articles, I will be sharing my “10 Tips for Achieving New Year’s Resolutions in 2010”. They’ll be a great read (of course!) but you’ll benefit from them more when you complete the little challenges I give you. Here’s your first challenge to see how bad you want success. Over the next two weeks, ask yourself the following questions and write down your answers:

1) What do I want for my life, beginning in 2010?

2) What am I willing to do to make it happen?

Warning: The questions may seem easy but, if this is the year you want to achieve your resolutions, you’ll think long and hard before answering. Your responses will be the foundation for everything we do in the coming weeks. So, take your responses (and your success) seriously.
