Two years ago, we reported on an unfortunate story involving several young women who got into an altercation at the Cumberland Glenn Apartments in Smyrna, Georgia following an Instagram feud. During the altercation, one group attacked the other by throwing hot oil on them. The attack left victim Ashley Hardy with “second degree burns and lifetime scars.” Another victim had to undergo skin grafting as a result of her injuries.

As previously reported, prosecutors say Hardy, Jasmine Ragland, Shatericka Barrino and Stori Brown headed over to the apartment complex to confront Myzelle Armstrong and her friends, Mykhal Tait and Zawadi Clark. Upon their arrival, Armstrong, Tait and Clark emerged from their apartment armed with a baseball bat and a pot of hot grease. The foursome said that they tried to escape in their vehicle, but Armstrong and her friends surrounded them. They alleged that Armstrong pried the car door open with the bat and Clark splashed Hardy and Ragland with the grease.

On Wednesday, Armstrong, now 19, was sentenced to four years in prison and 36 years of probation for her role in the attacks, the Atlanta Journal Constitution reports. The tearful young woman was convicted of aggravated battery and aggravated assault the Friday prior. During sentencing, she expressed remorse for partaking in the attacks and blamed her friends for dragging her into the middle of the drama.

“Again I’m so sorry, I’m so sorry,” Armstrong said.

Assistant District Attorney Jaret Usher reasoned that although both groups of women were actively feuding with one another, Armstrong and her friends’ decision to heat up hot oil on a stovetop required premeditation.

According to WSB-TV, Clark pled guilty before the trial began and was sentenced to three years behind bars and 37 years of probation. Prosecutors say that charges are still pending against Tait.
