Wanna learn how to be a celebrity in your own life? Take heed…

Kill gossip; let the focus be on you

If you’re fond of gossiping, you’re going to have to let it go, unless you want to be the local gossip celebrity. Saying “gossip celeb” is oxymoronic; it’s like saying giant little people. You can’t build your own celebrity aura by going around talking about other people all day. Celebs are talked about, they’re the gossip, the center of discussion, not the other way around. Only very few “celebrities” e.g. Perez Hilton have been able to be really good gossips and celebrities at the same time. Even then, the whole “famous-for-being-a-nasty-gossip” label will never leave him.

Leave a mark on others

Most celebs enrich the lives of others. Even the slightly jerky celebs have a charity or two to which they contribute. In order to come into the fullness of your celebrity in your own life, you have to learn to leave a mark. Make some children happy. Help elders in your community. Be the life of the party when everyone’s feeling down. Give away smiles, hugs and cheer, or free bananas to the homeless on any random occasion, and you’ll be THE celeb of your life.

Have a “signature”

Wendy Williams has, “how you doing?” Even Tyra has “smeyezing” (or whatever). Some celebs have signature smiles or laughs–like Jackee Harry–or gap teeth like David Letterman. What’s your signature? Use it, wear it, be it. And have fun being your own celebrity!
