Brandi Maxiell took to Instagram on Friday to celebrate her tenth wedding anniversary with husband Jason Maxiell.

The happiness with which she speaks about her relationship to Jason is a pretty big deal considering it wasn’t that long ago that the couple was featured on an episode of Iyanla Fix My Life and he revealed that he had stepped out on her with more than 300 women. At the time, Brandi thought the number was a lot smaller (eight in the marriage when it was actually 50, and more than 300 in their 17 years together), so she was devastated by the revelation. However, Iyanla asked her what difference it made whether it was eight women or more than 50 during their marriage if she allowed the behavior to go on either way.
After the appearance, Brandi said at the time that she was focused on looking out for the son they share together, Jason, Jr., rather than addressing whether or not she would stay with Jason Sr.
“My focus is, and has been since we went on this show a year ago, to shift my entire life from being a great wife and mother into being the best mother and and person I can be,” she wrote. “I’m aware that my son will someday come across this video and witness what the man of his life has done to his mother and how I stood by and basically did nothing. Therefore, I have to prepare myself for that conversation with him ‘without lies’ but with compassion for my son.”
She also addressed her feelings about the steep number of women Jason cheated on her with and how it harmed their relationship.
“I would like to say I’m more frustrated with him blurting out a number to the world with no regard for my feelings,” she said. “Eight put a damper on our relationship and I was willing to work on it. Over 50 tore it down!”
However, the appearance seemed to help. The pair obviously stayed together and worked through their issues, making it to 10 years of marriage and hopefully, overcoming any further issues of infidelity. If she’s happy, we’re happy for them.
