(Chicago Tribune) — The chanting could be heard from the bottom of the escalator lifting the stampede of Red Line commuters up into the cold evening.  “Stop the violence! Break the silence!” the women yelled, their voices echoing around the 95th Street station, each chant punctuated with puffs of breath. “What do we want? Peace! When do we want it? Now!” Some polite rush-hour commuters stopped to look at the fliers the women passed out; a few stopped to talk. But the 15 or so women who call themselves the Deborah Sisters weren’t worried about how many people they reached — it was who stopped that mattered.
