(Clutch) — Oprah will star in a new comedy written and directed by “Sex and the City” director, Michael Patrick King. The media queen will share the screen with industry Hollywood heavyweights Meryl Streep and Sandra Bullock, according to Deadline.  Considered to be one of the most exceptional casts assembled in years, the Universal Pictures project will be set in a world of a Home-Shopping kind of network, where the characters make their way through a hybrid of media, marketing, and marriage. King tells Deadline, “I came up with the idea of writing for Meryl, Sandy, and Oprah, and it became so specific to them that I wanted to be sure I had interest from these ladies.” The famed SATC director continues, “I put it in front of each of them and they all said yes.” King also says that it was appealing to craft a character for Oprah to come back and play who’s not Oprah.
