(Crain’s) — Austerity is still on the menu at New York City restaurants, according to the 2011 Zagat Survey, which comes out Wednesday.
Not only are New Yorkers eating out less than they did a year ago, they are spending less, too. The survey reports that 27% of respondents said they are eating out fewer times per week than they did just six months ago, while their average cost of a restaurant meal was $41.76—about flat from last year.
