(Chicago Sun Times) — Toni Richards has stayed in her home in the Roseland neighborhood and fought foreclosure every step of the way. She has prevailed, at least so far, and she urged others who are tangling with mortgage servicers over paperwork and seemingly endless delays to stay put and keep fighting.

“I qualified for loan modification in November 2009, but Chase Bank [the loan servicer] tried to rescind my qualification based on documents that the bank didn’t have,” Richards said Tuesday as part of a rally by grass-roots activist group Action Now outside of Cook County Sheriff Tom Dart’s office at the Daley Center.
