(Atlanta Journal Constitution) — Sandy Springs residents took turns objecting Tuesday to increasing their property taxes to help balance the Fulton County schools’ 2010-2011 budget.  “I do not think, in this economic climate, it makes sense for any governmental entity to raise taxes,” Mayor Eva Galambos told the board at Dunwoody Springs Charter School.

Tuesday’s sparcely attended hearing was the first of three the board has scheduled to hear input on the proposed 1 mill increase. Additional hearings have been set for 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. next Tuesday at the district’s administrative center on Cleveland Avenue.
