Aldermen Say No to Proposal to Regulate Vacation Rentals

(Atlanta Journal Constitution) — Concerned that foreclosed homes could become revenue-generating havens for “vacation rentals,” Chicago aldermen today de-railed a proposal to license and regulate the practice.  For nearly two years, downtown Ald. Brendan Reilly (42nd) has been trying to crack down on condominium owners who rake in as much as $750 a night by turning their units into hotel suites.
