(Washington Business Journal) — District business leaders Friday found several allies on the D.C. Council in their collective battle to stop a raft of proposed tax and fee increases in Mayor Adrian Fenty’s 2011 budget plan.

The heads of D.C. Chamber of Commerce, as well as of the builders and realtors associations, called on the council to ensure the government is lean before it starts boosting revenue with fees and taxes.
