Pecan Farm to Double Solar Energy for Georgia Power
(Atlanta Journal Constitution) — A South Georgia pecan farmer is about to nearly double the amount of solar power in Georgia Power’s energy mix. The energy will come from a 200-kilowatt solar farm built on an acre of Trey Pippin’s property southwest of Albany. Built by ESA Renewables of Lake Mary, Fla., the solar system uses high-efficiency solar cells manufactured by Norcross-based Suniva.
$45 Million Investment Shines On Solar Firm Solaria
(MercuryNews.com) — Powered by a $45 million investment, Solaria Corp. said Tuesday that it will expand its Fremont operations, move to a new site in the city and hire dozens of workers for solar equipment production and sales. The Fremont-based maker of solar photovoltaic modules said it is planning full-scale production in the East Bay and overseas of solar equipment that slashes the cost of the alternative energy.
