Earlier today, we posted Kelly Rowland’s new song, “Dirty Laundry.” In the lyrics she details the abusive relationship she endured. Naturally, we were wondering who this man is/was. After her engagement to former football player Roy Williams, we didn’t hear about who she was dating. Which is a good thing. But in the digital age, word travels fast.

Because Roy is the only man we know about, folks incorrectly assumed that he was the man she was talking about.

But Williams took to Twitter to clear his name:

And then the Twitter gods blessed us with this gem. One of Roy’s followers figured out who the man was.

And Roy confirmed it. Cudda or Cudda Love, was Nelly’s manager/body guard back in the day…or maybe still today. (There’s not too much info on him right now.) But we suspect all that to change. This would make the most sense. Kelly mentioned that this relationship took place a decade ago. Which would have been around 2003, when she and Nelly recorded “Dilemma” and was subsequently spending a lot of time around Nelly and his crew.

There are very few pictures of him. But a while ago, Cam’ron posted a picture of Cudda Love on Instagram.

Kelly Rowland Covers UK’s Cosmopolitan Magazine

After presenting Nicki Minaj on the cover of the U.S. version of Cosmopolitan magazine yesterday, today we’re showing off our girl Kelly Rowland on the magazine’s UK edition. The singer, who is a judge on the UK version of The X Factor, shows off her smoking body (time for me to get back in the gym), but also gets deep with the magazine about wanting to finally reconnect with her estranged father, Christopher Lovett. Lovett walked out of her life when she was a child and after having drama with her mother, was taken in by the Knowles family. According to the Daily Mail, Rowland’s father made it public that he wanted to get back in touch with her, but of course went the tabloid route. While she wasn’t feeling his methods, she does agree that she would like to have Lovett back in her life as well:

“He reached out to me saying he wanted to see me, but it’s unfortunate he did it so publicly. I want to meet him, and soon, I really do. I forgave him a long time ago. I haven’t seen my dad for almost 20 years. It’s nothing I want a pity party for. He left me and my mum, and I was angry. I wanted to be a daddy’s girl so bad. God damn The Cosby Show because that made me think “Why aren’t my family like that?” But this is not a perfect world.”

I’m pretty sure the singer said “mom” instead of “mum” but you know how folks in the U.K. say it. Anywho, Rowland also opens up about her boob job, and the marriage that never happened to NFL player Roy Williams in 2005.
“I was too young for marriage. I remember my sister B [Beyonce] asked me one question: she said, ‘Well, you know what you want now, don’t you?’ and I was like ‘Yes’. It was so hard and embarrassing because everyone knew. I’d posed for the front cover of a magazine in my wedding dress and it was on sale! But sometimes you fall down and you learn from it.
If you have a newsstand or shop in your area that sells international magazines, you’ll be happy to know that the issue with Kells on the cover drops October 10. If not, feel free to check out more photos from the Cosmo shoot and more of Rowland’s thoughts on marriage, her parents and her boobs, at the Daily Mail .

When Proposing by Mail Goes Wrong…

You would think a man that could afford a $76,600 engagement ring would be able to find a way to propose to his girl in person. A romantic proposal by boat, plane, train or something snazzy, but at least memorable.

But somehow, Dallas Cowboy football star Roy E. Williams thought it was a good idea to propose to his girlfriend at the time, Brooke Daniels, a former Miss Texas USA, with the help of the U.S. Postal Service. He sent this extremely expensive piece of jewelry to her through the mail, along with a recorded proposal message. A signed affidavit provided by the Odessa American, signed by Williams, also claims that he sent along $5,000 to help her pay for school and dental bills, and provided a baseball for her brother. While he assumed all would be good and gravy, he was incorrect. The former beauty queen declined the brothas marriage proposal in February, and as of this moment, he still hasn’t received the ring back–through the mail how it was sent or nothing! At one point, Williams said in the affidavit that Daniels claimed she lost the ring, but according to her father, Michael Daniels, he says he has it and will try to return it to avoid legal action, though he claims the Cowboys’ wide receiver told his daughter to keep the ring. According to the Odessa American, papa Daniels said:

“I want to wash my hands of it,” Michael Daniels said. “It’s just a hassle. I’ll take care of my daughter. I don’t need him.”

No matter what Williams said post the engagement snafu, he now just wants the ring back. And according to Fox Sports Southwest, in Texas, engagement rings are classified as conditional gifts. So if one person breaks off the engagement, the ring goes to the other person (if the man breaks off the engagement, he loses claim to the ring. But there was no engagement agreement whatsoever…so is it just me, or should homegirl quit playing and give that ring back? She’s wrong for pretending that it shouldn’t have been returned immediately (to halt confusion or playing with his emotions at least), but what was HE thinking? Proposal by mail? Really Roy? You couldn’t have waited until your next visit to see her and get on one knee? Now that’s a no no.

Would you ever say yes to a proposal from the man you love if done by mail?
