(Chicago Sun Times) — Chicago aldermen today walked a tightrope between their concern about political witch-hunts and their fear of voters fed up with City Council corruption.  By a vote of 22 to 4, the Rules Committee agreed to hire a legislative inspector general with the power to investigate aldermen and City Council employees.
