If you watch Power, then you know that La La Anthony’s character of LaKeisha on the series has developed and is now involved in a romance with Joseph Sikora’s character of Tommy. TV romance = TV sex scenes, and the Starz series is known for its very steamy and realistic scenes as well as nudity. Anthony, known more to many as a TV personality (and Carmelo Anthony’s estranged wife) and mom than an actress, is not exempt from stripping down from them.

Her nude scenes have garnered an interesting reaction from people, and to be frank, the 38-year-old wants those who are shocked by them to get over it already. At least, that’s what she told the folks at The Breakfast Club.
“Here’s the situation, and I’m glad we’re talking about this because I want to address this once and for all,” she said. “First of all, the problem is, people don’t know how to separate La La from LaKeisha. That’s my character on Power. My character on Power is currently in a relationship with Tommy. When you’re in a relationship with someone, you have sex with them and you take your top off. You don’t have sex fully clothed. So that’s what’s happening in their relationship. But the problem is, people just see it as, ‘Oh my God, La La’s on TV doing this and that, I can’t believe she’s doing this!’ No, LaKeisha is doing that. And if I’m a true actor and I’m real about my craft, which I take seriously, that’s what I’m going to do.”
Anthony said she’s not going to start making demands about what she will and won’t do as an actress now that she’s being given more opportunities on screen.
“I’m not going to go to the creator of the show, Courtney, and say, ‘Oh, because people are going to call in and say I’m a bad person because I showed my boobs and every woman has boobs, I’m not going to do this’ and I’m going to risk my job as an actor. I’m not going to do that,” Anthony added. “I will say this, to be on Power, we got sat down from the first episode of Season 1 to sign a nudity clause. You know at some point on Power there may be — 50 showed his stuff! At some point it’s going to come to everybody! I’m no different. I’m an actor. I work really hard at what I do. I just really love the people that support and really wish the people that didn’t know it’s not La La, it’s LaKeisha. So when I read that I’m a bad mom because I did a scene on Power, it’s the most hilarious thing to me. First of all, Kiyan doesn’t even watch Power, let’s start there. He’s not even allowed to watch the show. But people need to learn how to separate it. For the most part, I will say the response has been amazing and most people do know how to separate it. But when it becomes like, ‘Oh, I can’t believe she did this! What does ‘Melo think?’ This is acting! This is not my real life. You’ve got to stop.”
