Since stepping on the scene, Lupita Nyong’o has been a style maven. She plays with bold colors and prints, and her hairstyles, from her fly TWA to her playful use of extensions, always leaves us oohing and ahhing. As of late, the beauty has been wearing headwraps just about everywhere, including on the red carpet. From Nigerian-inspired geles to patterned scarves, Nyong’o has been turning heads with her wraps with the help of her hairstylist, Vernon François. As he told Stylish, Nyong’o decided to showcase such fabrics while promoting her new film Queen of Katwe to represent for her heritage.

“The inspiration for the looks comes from African culture and is essentially part of African day to day life,” he stated. “Head wraps play an important role as an everyday accessory.”

Check out a few (okay, quite a few) times Nyong’o stepped out in all her crowning glory and get inspired to rock headscarves outside of the house in similar ways.
