According to TMZ, Master P just lost custody of the four children under 18 that he has with Sonya Miller. It wasn’t because he was an unfit father, or deemed unstable–it’s because the rapper decided not to show up to court at all…
Sonya was given sole physical and legal custody of 9-year-old Mercy, 13-year-old Hercy, 14-year-old Italy, and 17-year-old Tytyana. Because he didn’t show up to court (and it’s unclear why), he will have to pay sanctions for being a no-show, and cover Sonya’s hefty legal costs, which are $75,000.
Despite the millions Master P is worth, Sonya claimed early on in their divorce/custody battle that she was on food stamps because he had left her with a whole lot of nothing. But both Master P and their oldest son, Romeo, tried to claim that she needed to get her life together and is on drugs.
Master P recently issued a statement that said this about Sonya’s past allegations:
I haven’t been with this person in over 7 years. She has had several boyfriends since then. I take great care of all of my kids, all of their needs are being met in an abundance. I come from the ghetto, I changed my life but she didn’t want to grow with me so we’re not together. If Sonya supposedly helped me start any of my companies including No Limit, wouldn’t she be capable of creating some type of income in the last seven years besides turning to welfare?”
Educated business people don’t think like that even in hard times. Stevie Wonder could see through this publicity stunt. This is hilarious. All I ask is that she take a drug test in the next two weeks and pass it. I will give her everything I have. The four minors she says she needs help with, three of them are with me, this makes no sense. I’m tired of sugarcoating and hiding the truth of ungrateful people that I’ve been taking care of for so many years. If she’s that great of a businesswoman like she claims, she should be able to do it again for herself.
And Romeo said this about his mother to TMZ:
“Honestly, I love my mom to death, but I mean — we gotta just work out some things. She gotta be a better parent, you know. If she was a better parent should could have everything. She gets everything regardless.”
But despite all these claims, and even having his kids get on video and say why they would prefer to live with him instead of Sonya, Master P still didn’t do what he needed to. If she’s as bad as they all say, why not show up and fight for custody? No comment from him about the ruling as of yet, but we’ll keep you posted.
