Last fall we told you that Laurence Fishburne’s daughter, Montana Fishburne, denounced the adult film industry after starring in her first movie with adult film vet Brian Pumper. Since deciding to pursue another path in life, the 22-year-old certified fitness trainer has been hired by Karrine Steffans’ publishing company to contribute fitness articles to Karrine’s lifestyle blog, I Am So F’n Gorgeous. It also appears that Karrine has taken on the task of mentoring Montana. The new partnership was announced earlier this month.

“We gave Montana Fishburne a job. Well, it’s less of a job and more of a chance. We believe in chances,” the “Confessions of a Video Vixen” author revealed in a message posted to the Steffans Publishing website. “Let’s not play coy and pretend we’re not all staring at the pink polka-dotted elephant in the room, standing on one leg, juggling a set of bowling balls, blindfolded with a firecracker in its mouth. We see what’s happening here and you’re all asking the same thing: Huh?”

She went on to reveal that she and Montana connected about a year ago on Twitter and quickly forged a mentor-mentee relationship.

“When I met her, I instantly wanted to protect her, I wanted to help her claw her way out of the ditch she’d dug for herself. I told her it would be a long road back and no one will ever forget, but if she just did the work, she could switch the focus and one day be known for so much more.”

Her message continues:

“There is still time. She sat at my dining room table and she told me her story, things she’s never told the public, and I understood. Montana is a beautiful soul who has, at times, lost her way and I do hope that she will find herself in the midst of all the madness she has created and live her true and divine purpose.

God heals. In the interim, while my young, impressionable friend is still finding her way, I want to show a side of her most never see, a side she doesn’t really know how to expose. I want her to see her body in a different light and put it to use in a more glorious way.

Montana is a certified fitness trainer, as is her mother (pictured with her above) and for Karrine & Co.’s Fourth Annual Make Over Month, I asked her to contribute to our new Fitness blog over at I Am So F’n Gorgeous.

It may seem like a stretch to you but physical fitness and health are major parts of Montana’s life. The kid knows her stuff! Now, is she bat shit crazy otherwise? Maybe. But we’re not here for her life advice; we’re here for toned abs and an ass that won’t quit.

So, give her a chance.

I am not trying to convince you she is worthy of respect; I am trying to convince her.

To my dearest Montana, do the work; no one can deny the work.”

This will all depend on what Karrine does moving forward, she’ll have to set a good example for Montana in order to get her positive message to sink in.

I am glad these two women have connected…we as women can learn something from them…instead of joining the bandwagon and dragging someone down for what they did on film, help them and learn from them…

I am truly surprised. My initial reaction was: what does “back on track” mean to Karrine Steffans? But, this is good.

I’m happy Karrine is doing something positive with herself and is helping Montana get on the right track. Who’d have thunk Karrine would have made it this far.
