Hall County Commissioner Ashley Bell Makes Switch to GOP
(myfoxatlanta.com) — The Republican wave that swept the nation in the mid-term election is reverberating in Georgia. Seven Democratic politicians have now jumped ship and switched parties. On Thursday, Hall County Commissioner Ashley Bell became the seventh Democrat to make the switch to the GOP. Bell was a super delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 2004, and he is the first African-American elected official to switch parties since the general election. The move gives Republicans a wider political margin in the state of Georgia.
