Baseball legend Roberto Clemente had a successful career as a right fielder. from 1955 to 1972 he played 18 seasons for the Pittsburgh Prates and was MVP once and All-Star twelve times.He was also a four-time batting champion and Gold Glove winner twelve times. By 1973 he got his 3,000th major league hit. Roberto Clemente also did a great deal of charity work for his home country of Puerto Rico and other Latin American countries. He was killed tragically in a plane crash on December 31, 1972 while traveling to Nicaragua to provide aid to earthquake victims.
