It looks like former NBA star Stephon Marbury has finally gotten his ex-mistress and former chef, Thurrayah Mitchell, off of his back for good–and it only cost him a whopping $900,000 to do so.
In case you missed it, Stephon reportedly cheated on his reality TV star wife, Tasha Marbury, with Thurrayah, who was employed as his personal chef back in 2006. Once the affair was over, to ensure that word would never leak to the general public, Stephon and Thurryah entered into a legal agreement. In exchange for her silence about the affair, the 36-year-old New York native agreed to pay $900,000.
After coughing up about $600,000, the payments stopped. As a result, Thurrayah took her ex-lover to court earlier this year, demanding the rest of the money. A judge eventually ruled that Stephon was still required to pay up. According to TMZ, Stephon has finally paid off the remaining $341,000. This is all pretty ironic considering that everybody and their mama knows about the affair. Talk about a waste of money.
If you’ve been keeping up with Basketball Wives this season, it’s the same affair that inspired a portion of Evelyn Lozada’s book, The Inner Circle. You know, the one that she and Tasha are constantly going back and forth about.
“People just know what they read about. They don’t know the details of what really went on. I’ve healed. I’ve moved upward and onward from it. I don’t dwell on it. It’s something that happened and I can’t and go back and erase it, but I’m not gonna let that overshadow my life and stop me from being the person that I am,” Tasha told VH1 of the affair.
