Gone Too Soon: Television Shows Canceled Before It Was Their Time

Don’t you just love a good television show? They’re so hard to come by more often than not that when you find one and you find yourself so emotionally invested, the level of pisstivity you reach when it is canceled or has a finale is unparalleled.  Here are just a few shows that we loved (for the most part) that made an exit when they were still in their prime! Oh, and feel free to add the shows you thought ended before their time so we can mourn together!

    If you’re a show scheduled @10 pm on NBC & you’re NOT Law & Order, don’t count on making it through the first season. Ie: Journeyman, Flash Forward, Kings, The Event, Awake, Do No Harm…

    The Event was getting SO good and then poof! Gone. And The Playboy’s Club? It was so not what people thought it was going to be. The writing and the acting was wonderful

    I was 12 when My So-Called Life and NY Undercover came on and was mad when both were cancelled. my mom and i loved Roc, Girlfriends, and I totally started to like Lincoln Heights. Now if you lived in Chicago in the 1990s and you were a teen, Saturday nights there was a local teen soap opera called The Awakenings that came on, I wanted to be on that show,

    NY undercover and my so called life were MY shows!!!! *tearing up*. Didnt really catch on to my so called life until the mtv reruns. I loved ricky. And I miss lincoln heights too. But i want to add girlfriends of course ( i just wanted to see joan get married damn it!), half and half, and eve

    I’m more of an 80′s and 90′s kid I remember some of those 1 hit wonder shows from the 00′s. I do remember Lincoln Heights I never got into it but my mom she watched the show what attracted her to the show was the interracial dating and then it was a black family. Anyways, New York Undercover I hate that it was cancelled also I love that show if it wasn’t for that Eddie dying the show would have continued on for I believe another few seasons, My So Called Life…..I wish I could meet the person that wrote this article we think alike sometime this was my show and I too was mad when it was cancelled. I think it was also before its time and I was a teenager in 1995 so I could relate to Angela and what she was going through. I’m going to have to look up Tribes I think I remember that show.

    Too bad, “Where I Live” with Doug E. Doug didn’t make the list. That was a great, positive show about a “regular” Black family.

    Tribes was my show! Michelle Stafford aka Phyllis Newman ( Y&R) was on that show. It was just on for a hot second…but I watched!
