‘Iyanla Got In His A**:’ Tashera Simmons Gives Us A Preview Of ‘Iyanla Fix My Life’ And Why She Wouldn’t Film With DMX

January 28, 2013  |

When we announced that DMX was going to appear on the second season of “Iyanla Fix My Life,” I’m pretty sure the heavens opened up and an angel descended from the clouds above. Never have any of us been so excited about someone appearing on a reality type show before, but we all know DMX needs help — a lot of it — and that’s why we had to ask his soon-to-be ex-wife about his appearance on the show when we caught up with her at the premiere of “Starter Wives.”

Tashera is one of six women who will appear on the new TLC reality show featuring the exes of popular celebrity men who were basically with these guys from the start but got kicked to the wayside somewhere along the way, like after the fame came. Tashera and DMX tried reality TV once to make their relationship work when they appeared on “Couples Therapy,” but Tashera wasn’t willing to do that again when the opportunity to participate in “Iyanla Fix My Life” came around. She did participate for her own healing though, and as she told us last week, Iyanla not only got in DMX’s butt, but her’s too. Check out what she had to say about the experience in the video above.

As much as I am a fan of DMX’s and want to see him get back on his feet I hope she NEVER gets back with him she deserves a lot better

  • Why is everyone talking in circles about what’s really going on? DMX is a straight up druggie/dope head. You cannot have a healthy relationship with an addict. Come on now. Unless Iyanla booked his azz a one way ticket to an intense rehab facility she might as well have been talking to the wind.

  • This must be a different “Starter Wives”? A show of the same name came out years ago (starring Debra Messing) that got cancels a couple of seasons after.

I actually thinks he truly loves her but he’s too damaged by his own personal demons to do right by her. If u can’t do right for yourself its impossible for u to do right by others. I’m glad she got out while she’s still young. I’m sure she still loves him but sometimes u have to love people from far away..

Good, I’m happy she finally got her brain right. She was in love alone.

This is one that I can’t wait for I’ll have my kleenex ready! And I’m so happy that she has been able to pick up the pieces and move on with her life.
