Facts They Missed About the Eddie Long Drama. SMH.

Unless you’ve been living under a leopard-print pillow for the past month, you’ve probably already heard that four young men have accused Bishop Eddie Long of sexual coercion and abuse. With all the Bishop Long discussions that took place in the media, we felt that facts were getting lost. We decided to compile a list that sets those facts straight, as the Long fiasco moves along.

    @Anita one of the books you named was written by Mary Baxter. She is NOT a christian. And her books do not line up with the WORD of GOD. See this is what I keep talking about people not studying their bible to know for themselves what the LORD has to say. We need to stop labeling everything and everybody christian. Now on to the topic. Eddie Long will have his day in court. But GOD also has HIS law and he will deal with Eddie and everyone that was involved knowingly. We cannot expect children to make adult decisions. But we need to teach our children when something is said to them that just doesn't feel right it isn't. No one should touch you in a way that is inappropriate and then use the scripture to justify their actions. We need to be their for our children to come to us and talk to us. All abusers groom!!!!

    This article is interesting but wrong on many of its points.

    As of now this scandal is not about a crime but about adult men now accusing someone of manipulating them into having sex.

    If there were any discussions of a crime then trust me these 4 male accusers would have filed criminal complaints and if any charges were warranted, Mr. Eddie Long would have been arrested.

    So the question is why is this a civil case and not a criminal case?

    Well because there are not as much evidence or standards that are required in the criminal courts are not required in civil cases and lets not be naive here.

    Monetary compensation is very much important in this case.

    I think the reason why this isn’t getting a lot of news coverage is because although this situation is being presented as something fowl and disgusting as it should be more and more people are coming out of their own closets. All those powerful people that we have admired and loved through the years are also closet homosexuals. Seems to me that the most powerful men and women are in fact very much for “Equal rights and human rights” under this mirage sick people are supported and if rich enough protected. Mark my words this man won’t serve a lick of time. He may have to pay some fees all of which he will get back anyway and his church will not decrease in fact it may grow even more. Perhaps this will help to usher in that “new faith” that says “come as you are, if you are sick we will help you to learn to love your sickness”.

    I don't know if anyone know what the term "grooming" means. It is what pediophiles do to those they wish to be with. They do things to set the children up and make them feel obligated to them. They may do this by not overtly coming on to them, but by touching or saying things that really in the grey area. Giving gifts and opportunities that they would have not gotten if not being with him could be a form of "grooming". A person can do this by to giving gifts and things like that to a youth in exchange for allowing him to do what he wants. How easy is it to say no to someone who has convinced you that he is the best thing that has happen to you, acting in a fatherly roll, and emotionally cutting you off from your family. After years of doing this, then you start asking for sexual favors when you reach a certain age, is pretty sick. It is very calculating and sinister.

    I couldn't read past reason # 3. I totally disagree. This lists contradicts itself. No. 1 says it's not about homosexuality, but then goes on to call him a snake in the pulpit for being accused in the past. Accused of what? HOMOSEXUAL ACTS acts or molestation? – there is a difference. I disagree with No. 1 because it IS about homosexuality in the Christian church. They teach AGAINST homosexually. This is especially troublesome because the bishop HIMSELF preaches AGAINST it and now he's being accused of participating in acts that he TEACHES is against God. Those are the FACTS and he IS wrong if he had sex with even ONE of them. – even if he didn't COERCE anyone. If he preaches/teaches one thing and then IF he DOES that thing – HE IS WRONG!!!

    If you're going to talk about "Missed facts," then you should have your information correct. The young men are saying that he showered them with gifts, and when they became of the legal age for consensual sex, that's when the coercing came. So therefore there was no crime…

    i have no idea if those allegations are true or false,hope to God they are false but i have to comment about the fact people believe because you a a "pastor" you suppose to broke,or poverty is related to God or some form of humility.Im not bashing people but the thought patterns of so many people that's not rich or maximizing their potential and thus mock the people or true pastors that believe poverty is not God best.the same God that made diamonds,gold,platinum etc.if you want to judge pastors is one thing but to send email,blogs comments etc about a God you don't obv. know is a very derange(Cause (someone) to become insane: "a deranged man".

    It just sickens me how all the folks in the church was clapping for him like he was god in the flesh. It breaks my heart that he ruined those young boys life like this in order to live out his sick fantasy. Eddie Long needs to go to prison, and the church people that knew about this and turned the other cheek needs to go as well. Eddie Long is the devil!

    Age of consent? If they were my boys or girls at 15, 16, 17 hell, no grown azz man is going to have sex with them! I wouldn't sit back and laugh and think it's ok.

    Jesus spoke about the high priests and Pharisees of this world. They existed then and they exist now. He told his disciples to beware of the leaven of the high priests and the pharisees. In other words don't get involved with them because they are not of GOD. They claim Jehovah only to be pleasing in the sight of men. The molestation of children has broken up families for years, people not wanting to believe that their brother, husband, cousin, father, uncle or whoever has done something like this. No one wants to think that the person they love would do that to a child, but humans do sick and perverted things in the dark, but it will eventually surface to the light. I pray for the men who had to go through that especially from someone who claims to be a man of GOD. May GOD heal their mourning hearts.

    I don't doubt for a second that Eddie Long did what he did, with those young men, when they were boys. Now with that being said I wanna know where is the day-to-day coverage. Where is it at? Back in the day when news (this damaging on such an "upright" individual) happened the news pretty much exploited it. Every news station, every tabloid, and every news paper kept tally on the scandal. Now, this is definitely a scandal. I know, without a shadow of a doubt that there is much more evidence out there that can incriminate Eddie Long (I will not call him a Bishop because he is a false teacher). With that being said Eddie Long has people in high places, people that can simply make his "problem" go away, but how long will his higher help really help him out? I hope that he gets thrown under a bus. Why, you may ask? Well when you have a title that is a moral obligation to the people you MUST live by a certain standard and not dare, try to deceive the people. Eddie is supposed to be different from the world, instead he is acting just like it. ALSO, why on earth would he say that he is not a perfect man!!?! Red flag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
