A few weeks ago, a Madame Noire ‘Beauty’ writer was approached with the opportunity to try out a new bath and beauty products line by two young and savvy twenty-somethings who believe in that natural lifestyle. Afiya Natural Beauty Products was born, bred and manufactured by the hands of its owners, Ashley Robertson and Jerilyn Johns earlier this year. When we learned that the basis of the company was all about natural beauty and using natural products to enhance what we already have, we were sucked in like a bee to honey.
Just a few short months into the venture, the natural beauty mavens have accomplished the near impossible in this financial climate. Coupled with the frustration of limited offerings for natural hair care and the high cost of natural products, these two friends decided to create a profitable natural hair care business. Launching in California, Texas, Pennsylvania, Maryland, and North Carolina, the duo sought to fill a void in the beauty market for women seeking au-naturelle products that heal, soothe and restore skin and hair.

We found that the products were smooth, and seemed to melt into the skin leaving behind a strong essence of our favorite scents.
