We can let most of the little passive aggressive comments or teasing roll off our backs. But, there are some things that, when a guy says them, send us into panic mode and ignites way more insecurity than men realize.

    I thought the man I was dating had developmental disabilities because he stopped education at 15 & his two hobbies are drinking coffee and smoking tobacco, sitting and staring at a blank wall. So I put up with sone inappropriate behavior. I’m hosting a work related cocktail party: he says “you’re doing that to meet men.” He’s not asking me out. Why? He says thinking about me is fun. He forces himself on me in his car at my friend’s house in broad daylight and then says, after I slap him, how nice for me if I can get away with not having sex. After a month of my not answering his calls, I finally pick up and he says, “I can’t tell by looking that you’re an awesome person because you look like a dog.” I ask him to apologise and he says he’s rightfully stating his opinion. Then he goes on to explain what was doglike about my face. After which he said “I love you. When are we going to meet?”

      OMG!! This guy was CRAZY. Something VERY wrong with him. I wish you would have STABBED HIZ A$$ A COUPLE OF TIMES RIGHT IN HIS FACE!!! gEEZUS how could he SAY those things to you & WHY??? There’s no reason for that – except HE’s the one with the problem. And the “forcing himself” on you bit, that’s RAPE, isn’t it??? Oh LORD God present in MY days …….

    Geez these are sweet compared to what I’ve heard. Those aren’t really that bad. I’ve heard “You’re f$&king crazy” during an argument just months after I confided in him when I was diagnosed Bipolar. Oh yeah, and the fact thAt he blames me for EVERYTHING that goes wrong, even when I’m not involved.

      Honey I went thru the same thing. Everything that happened it was all MY fault. If the sun didn’t come up today & it rained instead, THAT was MY fault. If his car caught 4 flats while he’s on the road, that’s MY fault. If he saw a multi-colored cat, that was MY fault. There were times he’d come to my house & come IN THE DOOR starting mess with me, BECAUSE HE SAW SOME GUY standing across the street from MY building. The guy happened to look at or in the direction of my window, so to HIM, that meant the guy standing there has something to do with ME. He’s start questioning me about THE GUY – why is he standing there – do you know him – why was he looking up at your window – why did he look at ME “like that” – and then he’d proceed to tell me how much of a fk’d up or crazy look the guy gave him – as if I KNOW ABOUT IT & I had NO CLUE who he was even TALKING about. Another time a guy was coming down the stairs in my bldg while my bf was coming UP the stairs to my house. He came IN starting with me about the guy – “was he in here???” – “who is he” – “why are you getting mad, something MUST be going on if you’re mad, I ‘only asked a question’” (“I ONLY asked a question” <—– THAT was one of his biggest justifications, smh my GOD that man was so stressing & aggravating he made me FEEL like KILLING him ….

    Only like two of these are legit. Most of them seem like you’d be too sensitive and you do like to blow things out of proportion if you get upset over them.

    Funny b/c I have heard half of the comments stated in the article repeated to me constantly and the man who said them was not my boyfriend he is actually now my husband……probably why we are going through a divorce right now! He has told me I am all of the following:

    -physco
    -dellusional
    -too sensitive
    -dramatic
    -extreme
    -Bourgeoisie
    -blow everything out of proportion
    -nagging
    All while he didn’t do a thing to help build or provide the life we had together…..You pay all the bills in a household for 7 yrs. and I guess I did become all of those things!!! Which is why I am now divorcing because I need my sanity back!!! Men are a trip!! All the while they do things like this to put women down to overlook their mistakes and weaknesses!

    1. Are you wearing your little sister’s jeans?
    2. You could never be a model.
    3. I would never marry you because you are not a virgin.
    4. You are the darkest skinned woman I ever dated.
    5. Asked me if I loved him and when I told him I did, he gave me an angry sigh.
    6. Don’t compete in the pagent because everyone will laugh at you.
    7. I think you gave me something (mind you he was my first and only lover).
    8. My friends think you are ugly.  (Found out later NOT to be true).

    Yes, I’ve had therapy!!

      Clearly this guy was very insecure and was trying to break your self-esteem to keep you under his control. I pray that you see yourself as the apple of God’s eye and if you desire to be in a relationship, know that the man He has planned for you will see & treat you as such! Be blessed, my sister!!

      I’m a year late on this, just like the other post above to somebody else BUT …. I am reading this now, & I hope you get to read my reply. THAT GUY who said all these hurtful things was TRYING to hurt you. He WANTED to hurt you feelings & tear you down. Why anyone would wanna do that to ANYONE is beyond me, but yes – your boyfriend – or EX i hope – was definitely trying to hurt you ….

    My ex had the nerve to tell me that he was going to marry another woman because “she could do more
    for him than I could.” It took me a long time to get over that pain, but I realized that he did me a favor!!

    The most painful thing my ex ever said to me was, “I’m sorry I cheated, but I am not sorry I made a baby.”  It later changed to, “I never cheated and my son wasn’t a mistake and I don’t regret having him.” Effed up right? This guy is now a raging alcoholic. Karma is a mutha.

        I had a simlar experience and the guy was also an alchoholic and sociopath. I hope you recovered. What doesn’t kill us makes us stronger.

    1. “I really don’t like you, but I enjoy having sex with you!”

    2. “While we were out on our date, I really wanted to be with my ex instead.”

    3. “You’re stupid for renting and not being a homeowner!”

    4. “And why can’t u look more like Beyonce?!”
