Gary Coleman’s ex-wife is petitioning Salt Lake City court to recognize her as the late child actor’s spouse. Shannon Price issued documentation papers to the judge last week, confirming that she and Coleman lived together as a married couple despite their bitter divorce in 2008.
Along with her attorney, Price is seeking common law status from the judge in an effort to denounce the official divorce date and proceed with an ongoing judgment over his estate as the sole beneficiary. A note written by Coleman within days of their 2007 marriage contends that Price was in fact the sole heir to his estate; however, subsequent wills say otherwise. Ex-girlfriend, Anna Gray, is also in bouts to collect money through Coleman’s 2005 estate.
The 42-year-old actor died May 28th after the plug was pulled in the hospital from injuries sustained by a brain hemorrhage.
Guess mourning is always easier when you have dollar bills to dry your eyes.
