Reality TV stars Erica Mena and Safaree Samuels are a good looking couple, but I’ll never understand the obsession with looking younger. What’s wrong with simply looking good at your age? Recently, the 31-year-old reality star made a comment about her and her 37-year-old fiancé, Safaree Samuels, appearing a decade younger, which garnered quite the response.
“We look younger than you 90’s babies. Absolutely,” she tweeted.
There’s no need to debate whether or not the pair looks younger than people in their 20s; however, it’s worth it to question why that comment and comments like it are necessary. Pointing out that you look younger than your age is just as obnoxious as boasting about how wealthy, good looking, or popular you are. It’s just one of those things that you sit back and allow others to notice or mention. Doing it yourself always attracts the wrong attention, which is essentially what happened. Twitter had a field day on the “Love & Hip Hop” duo. In addition, moves like that reek of insecurity. Mena didn’t seem to be bothered by the shade, though. In fact, she didn’t even respond. She just went right ahead tweeting as if nothing had happened. Perhaps that was the intended goal all along — to get people talking.
One thing is for sure: the two are definitely still an item. Last month, rumors of a breakup began to circulate after Joe Budden made a comment about Safaree putting an end to the relationship with the former video vixen.
“Oh speaking of smoke, you brought up Safaree broke up with Erica,” Budden said during an episode of his podcast “The Joe Budden Podcast With Rory & Mal.”
