Zonnique Pullins just bought her first home at 22 years old.
Of course, her mother is Tameka “Tiny” Cottle of Xscape and her stepdad is T.I., so she hasn’t had to struggle to rub some coins together. Still, the singer is using her own OMG Girlz and reality show checks (T.I. & Tiny: Friends & Family Hustle and Growing Up Hip Hop Atlanta) to secure herself a house.
Tiny broke the news on Instagram on Thursday as the super #proudmama she is.
“Super proud of My 1st,” she wrote. “@zonniquejailee she bought her first house today!! Congratulations my beauty Queen… Your mama loves u lady!”
She posted the caption alongside a photo of Zonnique holding the keys to her new home.
The move is a big deal for Zonnique, as it would be for anyone, but it’s not a shock. She has always come off as very levelheaded, mature and responsible. (Except for that time she was arrested for having a gun on her possession in the airport, or when she followed in her mom’s footsteps and had iris implant surgery.)
Zonnique is the eldest child of Tiny and her ex Zonnie Pullins, but she is particularly close with stepfather T.I. She, like many famous kids, could have relied on their fame, name and dollars forever, but as she told Rolling Out last year, she’s always wanted to do her own thing, and now, that starts with having her own space.
“I feel like that’s what I’ve been trying to do for so long. I think that in time, there will be more of a separation. But I also feel like with me just starting off, it’s a little hard to separate between the two,” she said. “I do expect it to happen when I make a full name for myself. Then I’ll be like looking for people to say, ‘That’s Zonnique,’ instead of ‘That’s T.I.’s daughter or Nique-Nique.’ It takes time, though.”
