(Chicago Tribune) — State Sen. James T. Meeks said Thursday that he has no intention of leaving the pulpit of his South Side megachurch if he is elected mayor.

“That’s non-negotiable,” Meeks said after a groundbreaking ceremony for a Salvation Army community center in the West Pullman neighborhood. “I feel that I can run my church and run the city of Chicago.”
