(Atlanta Journal-Constitution) — A Fulton County judge has upheld Georgia’s law that requires voters to show a photo identification before casting a vote at the polls. Superior Court Judge Tom Campbell, in a three-page order signed Monday, rejected claims by the Georgia’s Democratic Party and others that the voter ID law unduly burdens the right to vote. Campbell noted that the U.S. Supreme Court has already upheld Indiana’s voter ID law. The federal appeals court in Atlanta also has rejected a similar challenge to Georgia’s statute.
