Are Kim Kardashian & Kris Humphries Reuniting?

November 7, 2011  |

After a week of intense media scrutiny, in which Kim Kardashian was lambasted for her 72-day wedding and Kris Humphries was basically pitied, the two have reunited for the first time. Fox News and Radar Online have reported that Kim K. and Kris have met with the pastor that originally married them — and that Kim even went out of her way to meet with Kris on his home turf. Isn’t that (sort of?) sweet:

Kim Kardashian flew to Minneapolis on Sunday to see Kris Humphries, less than a week after filing for divorce from him.

The couple met with the pastor who officiated at their wedding to discuss their split, Radar Online reported.

The two-hour meeting with Pastor Joel Johnson, who has known Humphries since he was a child, took place at the basketballer’s lavish lakefront home in suburban Chanhassen.

Kardashian then left the property with Johnson, while Humphries later emerged without saying a word to waiting paparazzi.

TMZ photographers had seen the 31-year-old reality TV star arrive at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport with a bodyguard about 5:30am local time Sunday.

She had taken a Saturday night flight from Los Angeles to see Humphries — the first time they had met face-to-face since the shock divorce announcement.

He has rarely been seen since the story broke last week, instead spending time with family, friends and focusing on training.

“He’s sad,” a source told E! Online. “He doesn’t want a war. He’s laying low.”

Kardashian returned to the United States on Friday after she cut short her trip to Australia to promote her handbag collection to deal with the fallout from the divorce.

So, Kim cut her business trip short to deal with the emotional wounds inflicted on her soon-to-be ex-husband. It’s good that Kardashian took some time to administer to Kris. But it’s unclear if she would have done so had not the media and public’s backlash against her been so intense. Perhaps Kim will learn a little about emotional sharing by being forced to help Humpries deal with being left bereft from this experience. That kind of lesson in truly giving in a context of intimacy will probably be really good for her.
