Easy, Breezy, Beautiful And Buff: Fitness Star Massy Arias Is Newest Face Of CoverGirl

October 6, 2017  |

CoverGirl is going out of their way these days to not only diversify the faces of their brand in terms of race, but also in terms of background and age. We’re so used to seeing models, actresses and singers representing the beauty industry, but CoverGirl is giving women who influence a wide range of things the chance to remind everyone they’re easy, breezy and beautiful, too.

We told you last month that Issa Rae had been welcomed to the CoverGirl family, and since then, busy mom and entrepreneur Ayesha Curry was pegged as the newest face. Now, one of our favorite fitness stars, Massy Arias, has been welcomed into the fold, and we’re so here for it. The Afro-Latina influencer shared the news on Instagram this week:

I remember watching America's next top model growing up as a young girl. Dreaming of a chance to experience for just one minute what it'd be like to take pictures with pretty makeup and pretend I was a model… A Covergirl. Oh, but did I ever believe I would one day become one. It's extremely humbling now to be in a position where I can possibly inspire young girls and women around the world. Follow @covergirl to join me on this exciting new journey!#COVERGIRLMADE This one is for you my tribe! # COVERGIRLMADE

Bonding with my chocolate drop before leaving to work. One of the hardest things I've had to deal with is leaving her for hours at a time so I take my mornings seriously…I know she will be proud of me one day… How do you all bond with your babies? Has it been hard to leave for work? Flying to New York and leaving her with my sister in law for a few days will definitely test my heart. New York, see you soon at CurvyCon Sept 8th & 9th ! Happy Tuesday tribe, let's be great today. #hijadecristo

With a fitness enthusiast, a pro motorcycle racer, a homemaker, a TV writer/actress, a Muslim ambassador and a woman over 65 all announced as the faces of CoverGirl in the last few months, it’s clear they want to change the game. For Arias, it’s an honor to help them do that.

“I can honestly say that it is refreshing to see fitness penetrating the beauty space with a brand that has so much impact,” she said in a new interview with PopSugar. “Being the first athlete and health coach to become a CoverGirl is definitely changing the game. As much as I love taking care of my body, I also enjoy enhancing my beauty — playing with makeup and the different looks I can create with it. Makeup is for every woman, and I’m honored to represent the brand and my industry with CoverGirl.”
