Toya Wright Announces Pregnancy After Hinting At Wanting Another Child Earlier This Year
Toya Wright (née Johnson) is expecting, and based on the way she shared the news today, it’s as much a shocker to her as it is to everyone else.
The 33-year-old spilled the beans in a creative video featuring her daughter, Reginae Carter. In it, the women get a visit at their home from a woman who seems to be a therapist, ready to discuss whatever issues they may be having. When they sit down to talk about the goings on of their lives, the therapist asks Reginae what may be bothering her, and runs down a list of possible issues, including pregnancy. That’s when Reginae points out that’s not her predicament, but rather, her mom’s:
Wright didn’t share how far along she is or who the father of her child is, but she did use the video to also share the release date for her upcoming book with her daughter, You Just Don’t Get It. The book will be released on October 26 through her own publishing company.
This will be the second child for the author, entrepreneur and TV personality, who has 18-year-old Reginae with ex-husband, Lil Wayne. She was previously married to Mickey “Memphitz” Wright, and their divorce was finalized in August. She has since started the process to change her surname back to her maiden name — Antonia Johnson.
In an interview with ShuString Magazine earlier this year, Wright hinted at the idea of getting pregnant again. She said in April that she was open to having another child, especially after having surgery for her fibroids.
“Now that I have had the surgery my chances of having a healthy full term pregnancy is greater.”
