Jesse Williams and his estranged wife Aryn Drake-Lee have been going back and forth, in the public eye, ever since we learned they were getting a divorce back in April. And according to recent allegations and responses, it doesn’t appear as if things will become more civil any time soon.
Earlier this week, we reported that Drake-Lee was requesting sole custody of the couple’s two children for several reasons. She alleged that Williams was acting out in front of them, showing a temper in front of his children while “aggressively pursuing” his neighbor.
Futhermore she didn’t like the women he was bringing around their children, 3-year-old daughter Sadie and 2-year-old son Maceo. She said as a result, the children are exhibiting signs of psychological distress.
She also asked that he refrain from posting pictures of the children on social media as she believes it is an attempt to distract from the negative talk around their divorce and custody proceedings.
In other court documents, Drake-Lee alleged that Williams had missed important events in their children’s lives, including his daugther’s preschool graduation because of work.
And as has been their custom throughout this whole thing, Williams responded to his wife’s claims with a public statement.
Williams’ representative told Entertainment Tonight, “These are matters for the court to decide,” Williams’ representative said in a statement to ET on Thursday. “Jesse has been working tirelessly to maintain his bond with their children and it is important to note that the dramatizations made in Aryn’s declaration are a one-sided account made with a specific goal in mind. The judge is fully informed on both sides of the story and will be making the final decision.”
Drake-Lee and Williams married in September 2012 after five years of dating. They two reportedly tried marriage counseling before Williams cited irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their separation. At the time he requested joint legal and physical custody.
I’ll be happy for the day when these two figure it out.
